아이들 키우는 동안에 우리 부부는 기러기로 살았다. 그러다 보니 한국과 호주를 오가며 장거리 가족 상봉을 하곤 했었는데, 오늘은 잦은 비행기 탑승으로 세관 출입을 할 때 많이 쓰이는 영어 표현을 알아보자.
1.Passport (여권): "I need to see your passport, please."
(여권을 보여 주세요.)
2.Visa (비자): "Do you have a valid visa for this country?"
(이 나라에 유효한 비자가 있나요?)
3.Immigration (출입국관리): "I'll be going through immigration soon."
(곧 출입국 절차를 거칠 것이에요.)
4.Customs (세관): "I have some items to declare at customs."
(세관에서 신고할 물건이 몇 개 있어요.)
5.Entry/Exit (입국/출국): "This is the entry gate, and that's the exit gate."
(여기가 입국 게이트이고, 저기가 출국 게이트예요.)
6.Arrival/Departure (도착/출발): "Your flight's departure time is at 3:45 PM."
(당신의 비행기는 오후 3시 45분에 출발해요.)
7.Boarding Pass (탑승권): "I've already printed my boarding pass."
(탑승권을 이미 출력했어요.)
8.Baggage Claim (수하물 찾기): "Let's head to the baggage claim area to get our luggage."
(수하물 찾는 곳으로 가서 짐을 찾아봐요.)
9.Declare (신고하다): "You must declare any items over the duty-free limit."
(면세 한도를 초과하는 물건은 반드시 신고해야 해요.)
